- The North Yorkshire Moors Railway in Pickering – board a heritage steam or diesel train for a scenic 24 mile route which winds its way across the North York Moors all the way to Whitby on the coast. - Beck Isle Museum in Pickering- this fascinating social history museum gives a glimpse into Ryedale life in days gone by featuring period business displays such as a barber, a chemist, a blacksmith (with demonstrations) and a Victorian-era pub. - Ryedale Folk Museum in Hutton le Hole – a unique open-air museum featuring rescued and re-situated buildings, including shops, cottages, an Elizabethan manor house and a full scale reconstruction of an Iron Age roundhouse.
- Eden Camp Museum near Malton – housed within the grounds of a former prisoner of war camp, this fascinating museum takes you back to war time Britain, with interactive displays, war time memorabilia and vehicles, and a children’s play area.
- FlamingoLand Zoo & Theme Park a short drive from Pickering, this exhilarating day out is fun for the whole family with rides, rollercoasters, and an award winning zoo.
