There’s a buzz in the air at this time of year, as we prepare for the busy days of spring and summer, and many of the attractions which have been closed over the winter begin to re-open.  Here’s our top picks for attractions opening again in the coming weeks..

  • Beck Isle Museum – opening April 3rd, and with free admission for Hungate guests*, this fabulous local museum takes you back in time to explore Pickering’s fascinating history.  
  • North Yorkshire Moors Railway – opening March 27th for the season, this iconic heritage railway is literally on our doorstep. New for 2023 – Unlimited Annual Pass valid for 12 months for only £40 per adult, children travel for free. Dog friendly.
  • Ryedale Folk Museum – opening March 20th, this open air museum in Hutton le Hole is home to a fascinating collection of heritage buildings which tell the story of life on the North Yorkshire Moors across 4000 years. Dog friendly. 
  • Eden Camp Modern History Museum – opening April 3rd, a short 10 minute drive from Hungate, occupying the site of a WWII prisoner of war camp, this museum preserves the history, the heritage and the personal stories of those who experienced WWII. Dog friendly.  
  • FlamingoLand – fully opens from March 25th, a short 10 minute drive from Hungate – along with the award winning zoo, the full park of thrilling rides, plus a selection of cafes and restaurants make this a great family day out.
