For any new 2021 or 2022 booking, we wish to reassure our guests that should the government change their guidance regarding overnight stays at any time, we will continue to postpone or refund bookings as we have been doing during the course of the pandemic.
While we are making every effort to follow guidelines and operate our business safely, we do understand that everyone's individual situation is different. Should you have an existing booking that you wish to discuss, please don't hesitate to contact us.
As a consequence of the Covid 19 pandemic, we have made some slight changes to the way we welcome guests and prepare our cottages for guest arrivals. See below for more information.
We ask that all guests ensure they do not display symptoms of Coronavirus (persistent dry cough, fever, loss of taste or smell, runny nose, headache, loss of appetite) before they travel to Hungate. Should symptoms develop during your stay, we ask that you inform us immediately.
Before Your Arrival
We will send pre-arrival information by email pertaining to your visit. We ask that any extra items be requested in advance of your visit (baby cot, high chair, stair gate) so that everything can be in place before you arrive.
Social Distancing During Your Stay
While we will be here to give you a warm welcome on arrival, we will continue do so from a safe 2 metre distance. We will point you in the direction of your cottage where you will find a laminated information sheet giving more details about your cottage. We are always available on site or on the end of the phone for any queries.
Although our cottages are completely self-contained, we ask that our guests always maintain a 2 metre distance from others while in the grounds of the cottages.
We always strive to maintain extremely high standards of cleanliness at Hungate Cottages. We will continue to take additional steps which have been recommended by Public Health England for cleaning in non-healthcare settings.
All contact surfaces such as handles, switches, remote controls, keys and laminated information sheets will be disinfected with Dettol products.
Fabric surfaces such as sofas, curtains and rugs will be sprayed with Dettol disinfectant spray.
Antibacterial cleaning products and hand wash have been provided for use during your stay.
We are also taking extra steps to safeguard our staff and housekeepers, including employing extra staff members and providing protective equipment for all staff.
We ask that all guests adhere strictly to the government restrictions which are in place during your stay.
Other Temporary Changes
We have temporarily removed all Welcome Folders. Local information regarding Restaurants and Visitor Attractions can now be found on our website under the News & Events page, Local Info.
During the summer months, logs and kindling bundles will be available for guests to collect from the log store.
Our bicycle storage is now limited. Some cottages have garages, and some have space in their downstairs cloakroom if bikes cannot stay on your car during your visit. Please contact us for more information. We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your bikes during your stay. For your peace of mind we have now installed CCTV in the car park.
